Privacy Policy

Account details. Your email address and, if you give them, your name, business name and trade. If you sign in with Google, Google passes us your Google email address and profile name. If you use a password, we store it in a form that can't be read back. The 4-digit PIN you set for quick unlocking is also stored so it can't be read back.

Your work data. Everything you type into the app: quotes, clients and contacts, jobs and pipeline stages, company details and logo, safety documents (SWMS/JSA/SSSP/JHA/AHA, toolbox talks) with signatures, plant prestarts with photos and comments, insurances and certificates, and your team list with roles and PINs.

Device and usage information. Which pages you view, the site that sent you to us and any campaign tag in the link, your device type, browser, operating system, screen size, language and timezone, and a random visitor number stored in your browser so repeat visits count as the same person. When you are signed in, that usage information is linked to your account.

Devices. A name for each device used to reach your company account, who last used it and when, so an owner or manager can sign a lost or shared device out remotely.

Emails. We send sign-in links, account confirmations and any summary emails you switch on (for example the daily prestart summary).

Payments. Your plan and subscription status are kept in MatWise. Card numbers, expiry dates and CVCs are handled by our payment provider and are never stored in MatWise.

To run the app: to show you your own quotes and records, keep your team's access to the right pages, email you sign-in links and summaries, and bill you when your trial ends. We also use device and usage information to understand which pages and sign-ups are working, and to fix things that break.

Your own team, according to the role you give them. Crew and supervisors see only the pages their role allows — prices, quotes, contacts and business health are blocked for those roles in the database, not just hidden in the menu.

The MatWise operator (the person who runs this site) can see account and usage information to provide support, keep the service running and monitor sign-ups and abuse.

Outside of that, your data is handled only by the providers we need to run the service: cloud hosting, database, email delivery, Google sign-in and our payment provider. None of them are given your data to advertise with, and we do not sell or share it for advertising.

MatWise keeps small items in your browser so you do not have to sign in again every time: a sign-in session, a visitor number for usage counts, the page you were on if the device was put into Crew mode, and a short list of accounts used on that device so "Switch user" can offer them. Ticking "Remember this device" at sign-in keeps you signed in for 30 days. Shared site devices are kept signed in on purpose, so a crew member can tap their name and get straight to a prestart.

You can clear these at any time in your browser settings; you will simply need to sign in again.

Data is stored on secure cloud servers with access controlled per company, so one contractor's quotes and safety records are never visible to another. Access requires a signed-in account, and role rules are enforced in the database itself. Sign-in links and password resets are sent by email, and devices can be signed out remotely.

We keep your account and work data while your account is open. Safety and prestart records are not deleted automatically — they are kept as your site record, which is the point of them. Usage information is kept so we can see how the site is used over time.

You can ask us to show you, correct or delete your account and its data, and you can close your account at any time. You can also sign any device out yourself in Settings → Devices, turn off a shared site device, or clear your browser storage.

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and the date at the top. Continued use of MatWise after an update means the updated page applies.
